10U Only
- 01Third strike: a batter is out after their third strike.
- 02Outfielders: only three outfielders are allowed, not four.
- 03Umpires: one umpire per doubleheader for weekend games, and one umpire per single game for weeknight games.
Playing The Game
- 01Coin flip: the umpire will flip a coin to determine home team and away team while discussing ground rules.
- 02Batters: a maximum of 11 players can bat. If you want to bat more than 11 players, you must bat all players.
- 03Runs: teams must have 12 runs after the 4th inning and 10 runs after the 5th inning.
- 04Warm ups: the field will be open 30 minutes prior to game time for warm-up in the outfield only.
- 05Bases: all teams are required to have a set of bases to bring to all scheduled games.
- 06Footwear: no metal cleats or spikes are allowed. Players must wear turf shoes or plastic cleats.
Official Ball
- 0112U, 14U, 16U, 18U and 18+ use a 12 inch official USSSA game ball.
- 0210U uses an 11 inch official USSSA game ball.
Reporting Scores
- 01Scores must be texted to Kate at 631-455-9258 immediately following the game by both coaches.
- 02Standings will be updated, and scores will be posted, once we receive them from both managers.
Schedules And Rainouts
- 01Announcements regarding rainouts will be made by Kate via group text.
- 02Games cancelled by weather will be rescheduled within 48 hours. These games will be posted to the schedule available online.
- 03Schedules are subject to change at any time. Please check your schedule often for any changes and make-ups that may have been added.
- 04Any dates that your team is unavailable to play must be given at the time of registration. We will do our best to accommodate each team.
- 05Please be aware that schedules are final at the time of release. We will not be making mid season changes.

Forfeits
- 01If your team is unable to make a game and must forfeit, please call Kaitlin at 631-455-9258.
- 02A forfeit will result in a 7-0 game loss.
- 03If you forfeit two times in one season, your team will be removed from the roster.
Rosters
- 01The roster freeze date will be released at the start of the season. At this time we need all players' birth certificates on file in order for these players to be eligible for playoffs.
- 02At no time may there be more than 20 players on your active roster.
- 03You may add or remove players from your roster up until the freeze date. After the roster is frozen, players may not be added.
- 04Players must have at least 2 plate appearances to play in the playoffs. This includes walks and sacrifices.
- 05Rosters must be submitted on the Island Fastpitch website as well as on www.USSSA.com.
Playoffs
- 018 team division: the top 4 teams qualify for the playoffs.
- 0212 team division: the top 6 teams qualify for the playoffs.
- 03Player eligibility: a player must have participated in at least two games to qualify for playoffs.
- 04Rosters must be submitted on the Island Fastpitch website as well as on www.USSSA.com.
Conduct And Ejections
- 01Island Fastpitch holds the right to suspend a player, manager, or team depending on the offense at any given time during your season. Reasons may include, but are not limited to, use of profanity, unsportsmanlike behavior, and false information given on registration forms.
- 02Should a player, manager, or coach be ejected from a game, he or she must leave the field of play immediately or risk the chance of his or her team forfeiting the game.
- 03Umpires also have the authority to remove anyone from any of the grounds you are scheduled to play at.
- 041st offense: the player or coach is ineligible for the next immediate game. Example: if you are ejected from game one of a doubleheader, you are ineligible for game 2 but eligible for your next scheduled game.
- 05If the ejected player or coach fails to sit the next game, a forfeit win will be awarded to the opposing team. That player or coach must still sit their next game, and the team representative or manager will also sit their next game for failure to comply.
- 06If the ejection occurs in the final game of the season, the penalty carries over to the playoffs or next season.
- 072nd offense: any player or coach ejected a second time will be declared ineligible for the remainder of the season, including playoffs and tournaments.
- 08In addition to the above suspensions, further disciplinary action may be taken against an ejected player or coach.
- 09Appeal process: a twenty dollar ($20) money order payable to Island Softball must be included with your written appeal. The fee will be refunded if the ejection is overturned.
- 10Parents that are unable to conduct themselves in a respectable manner may be asked to leave the field. If a problem persists, the parent may be asked not to return to the field. The umpire onsite, along with the owner or director, have the ability to make such decisions.
- 11We are looking to create a friendly, competitive atmosphere for all players, coaches, and parents.
Injuries And Insurance
- 01Any injuries occurring during the game at the field must be submitted to our office in a written report.
- 02Please be aware that if you do not purchase team insurance, the league and the field owner are not held responsible in any way.
