Program name: Island Fastpitch Text a Score
What it is. Island Fastpitch coaches and umpires can text game results to the league's score reporting number, (631) 900-3893. The service records the score on islandfastpitch.com, confirms it by text, answers questions about schedules, scores and standings, and may send one reminder when a game's score has not been reported. It also texts you when one of your team's games is moved to a new date, time or field, postponed, cancelled or put back on.
How to sign up. Sign up at islandfastpitch.com/text-scores by entering your name, team and mobile number and ticking the box to agree to these texts, or text JOIN to (631) 900-3893. You receive a text confirming your sign-up. Signing up is not a condition of registering or playing.
Who can send scores. Scores are accepted only from mobile numbers the league administrator has approved for a team, or as an umpire or league official. Anyone else who texts the number is asked to sign up first, and cannot change a score.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies. You receive a reply each time you text the number and, once you have signed up, at most one reminder per game when no score has been reported, and a text when one of your team's games is moved, postponed, cancelled or put back on.
Cost. Message and data rates may apply. Island Fastpitch does not charge for this service.
How to stop. Reply STOP to (631) 900-3893 at any time to stop receiving messages. You will receive one final message confirming you have been unsubscribed.
