Play for Rhiannon
Why we play for Rhiannon
Rhiannon Scott was a 14-year-old girl that played on Team Nitro LI Fastpitch Softball who suddenly died during the summer of 2016, however, her death was not softball related. She exemplified great compassion for life, was outgoing, friendly and approachable both on and off the field. She maintained a positive attitude/influence on the team no matter what the circumstance. She emphasized a ‘never quit’ attitude, worked hard always with 100% effort and was very passionate for the game. That passion led her to help many young girls in Farmingdale with their love for softball including her younger sisters. She loved being a part of her own large family.
We consider her as part of ours and invite you to do the same and ‘Play for Rhiannon’ too. Proceeds from this tournament fund the Play for Rhiannon Memorial Scholarship awarded to a Farmingdale High School Softball Player in her memory. In addition, the Play for Rhiannon Community Scholarship is awarded to a high school senior who plays in this tournament.
We appreciate your support.
